Lesson 7: God Is Our Heavenly Father

When disciples are born again, they have new life. They know how to breathe, how to eat, and how to have a family life. Now they need to know who is in charge of the family – Our heavenly Father. Jesus taught His disciples to say, “Our Father in heaven…” (Matthew 6:9). Our heavenly Father loves, protects, provides for, and disciplines us. He also promises a New Kingdom to His children.

The Heavenly Father’s Heart:

“The Lord has appeared of old to me, [saying]: ‘Yes, I have______ you with an __________ ______; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.” (Jeremiah 31:3)

Why did God save you? ……….. because you are so bad?……… because you first loved him?…….. because you have good or bad luck?…….. because ____________. No!

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great_______ with which He ________ us, even when we were ________ in ______________, made us alive together with Christ, (by ______ you have been saved),” (Ephesians 2:4-5)

How does God reveal His love to us? (1 John 3:1)
In Luke 15:11-24, Jesus talks about how a father loved a son. What are the similarities between this father and our Heavenly Father?

The Heavenly Father’s Protection:

The Heavenly Father’s Provision:

The Heavenly Father’s Discipline:
