Lesson 1: The Assurance of Salvation

The History of Mankind and the Human Condition:

Before we can understand how to receive our salvation and everlasting life through Jesus, we first need to understand how we (mankind) came to be in our current condition. Let us start by saying; “Congratulations, you are a child of the heavenly Father.” “and He has made from one blood (Adam) every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth…in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being…’For we are also His offspring’” (Acts 17:26-28; emphasis added). “This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created” (Genesis 5:1-2). That first man and woman sinned against God (Genesis 2:15-17; 3:6, 23). The entire human race came into existence through Adam after he had sinned.

How did Adam’s sin affect mankind? (Romans 5:12)
Is there anyone not affected by Adam’s sin? (Romans 3:10, 23)
What is the result of sin? (Isaiah 59:1-2)
People try many ways to restore their relationship with God yet fail. Why? (Ephesians 2:8-9)

God’s Plan of Salvation:

Explain how God draws us back to Himself using the following scriptures?

(Romans 6:23)
(1 Corinthians 15:21-22, 45)
(1 Peter 3:18)
(John 3:16)
(Romans 5:8)

Has God done anything special or significant to assure us that these things are true? Is there undeniable proof? (Acts 17:31)

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  (Romans 10:9)

Do you know you have been saved? ____Yes ___No
Do you know you have received eternal life? ___Yes ___No
Conclusion: ___ I have been saved. ___ I have not been saved.

If you have not already done so, you should ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins, come into your heart, and be the Lord of your life right now! You can also ask Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit so you can live the victorious life He died to give you! Eternal life does not only mean you will live forever; life with God also means that you are able to live a life of holiness, righteousness, kindness, and strength. You will forever receive the blessings of God! Believing in Christ not only means you have eternal life, but starting right now, you have a new life of peace, happiness, and blessings at this very moment (2 Corinthians 5:17). Is there anything keeping you from giving your life to Christ right now?

If We Sin Again, Are We Still Saved?
(1 John 1:6-2:1)

Memorize this Bible Verse:

“He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:12)

 Tell Others:

When you receive this great salvation, your life is full of joy and peace! The first thing that you should do is share this good news. Tell people what you have heard and learned. In addition, train these individuals to share and train others. In the following weeks, continue to teach more individuals weekly. This way, the good news of the gospel will continue to grow, and many others will be saved also.
