The Fruit of the Spirit – Lesson 13 – Quarter Review

Scripture Text: Galatians 5

Memory Verse: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. Galatians 5:22-23

Lesson Aim: To provide a summary review of the last 12 lessons on the fruit of the Spirit.

We have spent the last quarter together learning about the impact of the Holy Spirit and the characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit. What an incredible contrast between the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit! Thank God that we can change by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Our efforts to please God and conform to the image of Christ are useless without love. All the other qualities of the Christian walk are rooted in it. Because of God’s love for us and our love to Him and our neighbors, we can experience true joy.

We realize that the Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy and the Holy Spirit. Because of God’s peace, we can endure patiently and be gentle and kind. Goodness and faithfulness become the norm because we are growing more like Christ. Lest we should be high-minded, meekness is a virtue that we all need, coupled with temperance (self-control).

The full reflection of the fruit of the Spirit in our lives is a high calling and a great goal for each of us to aspire to. Do you want to manifest real power? Then let the Holy Spirit change you and produce His fruit in you. It will happen only as you strive to grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord.
