Lesson 1 – THE WORD OF GOD

Scripture Reading: Psalm 119:97-112.

Memory Verse: “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope” (Romans 15:4).

INTRODUCTION

These lessons will be based upon the tract “A Declaration of Things Most Commonly Believed Among Us.” From time to time it is good to review the basic doctrines that pertain to our faith. Peter and Jude thought it necessary to bring these things to the remembrance of the saints in their time, and it is

Power to Change—Live Different – Teacher’s Guide

Volume 3

We have come a significant way pursuing our theme of transformation, “The Power to Change.” In this quarter’s lessons, we will be considering different aspects of stewardship, living by faith, walking in authority, obedience and sanctification, marriage, parenting, finances, and more. Good stewardship of all of God’s resources requires understanding God’s grace and co-laboring with God to become overcomers and live victoriously. We challenge you to “Live Different.” Pastor Jon Carson

Wounded for Our Transgressions – Daily Devotional – Lesson 13

Sunday – Worship & Wavering in Galilee: Matthew 28:16-17
Obviously, the remaining eleven original disciples journeyed to Galilee sometime after Jesus’ second appearance in the upper room (when Jesus confronted Thomas). Despite Jesus’ former post-resurrection appearances, some are still wavering in their faith. Whether this event was before or after the “seven” dining with Jesus by the Sea of Galilee is unclear. Some speculate that it was on this occasion that Jesus appeared to more than 500 followers (1 Corinthians 15:6).

Monday – The Great Declaration: Matthew 28:18
The word “given,” means in the Greek “to be granted.” Jesus already

Wounded for Our Transgressions – Lesson 13 – Final Appearances

Primary Texts: Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:17-20; Luke 24:44-53; Acts 1:3-14

Memory Verse: And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:18-20

Introduction:

There are no less than thirteen different appearances of Jesus to his disciples

Wounded for Our Transgressions – Daily Devotional – Lesson 12

Sunday – Catching Nothing: John 21:1-3
Jesus made another appearance to seven of the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias (or Sea of Galilee). Their state of mind is unclear, but Peter is pulled back to the trade he knew well: fishing. We might suppose they didn’t quite know what to do with themselves, and Jesus didn’t condemn them for their activity. However, neither was their endeavor successful, despite casting their nets into the sea all night long. Perhaps they remembered another day that they had fished long and hard without success (see Luke 5:4-7).

Monday – A Multitude of

Wounded for Our Transgressions – Lesson 12 – At the Seashore

Primary Texts: John 21:1-25

Memory Verse: He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not
